About this Project
One of our first family portraits is still one of our favourites — featuring the grandchildren of our friend Barb Ryan out at the dock. Barb and Kyle go way back. In 2016, she won the Saskatchewan Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year, and Kyle won Young Humanitarian of the Year. They stayed in touch, and when the idea came up to do Barb’s grandchildren, we jumped at it.
At the time, this was the most detailed piece we’d ever done. Like all our early portraits, it was drawn, cut, and built entirely by Danelle.
To this day, it remains a favourite — you’ll spot it in photos all over.

The Sticks & Doodles Story
It all started in a basement.
