Before anything is cut, we send you a digital proof. You see exactly what you're getting and can request changes before we build.

Our team cuts, layers, and assembles the tiny pieces of wood to bring the drawing to life in three dimensions. It takes over 20 hours to design and build a single portrait.

Every Custom Wood Portrait begins with her — a hand-drawn original in her signature minimalist line art style that she's developed over years of making one-of-a-kind pieces.Once Danelle's drawing is approved, her team takes over – cutting, layering, and hand-assembling hundreds of individual wood pieces into something amazing.

This is a custom piece made from your photo. Here's what to expect before you order.

Hand Drawn by an Artist
Your artwork is hand drawn by artist & founder Danelle Moffatt using your photo as the reference. No templates, no shortcuts — every piece is made from scratch.

Our Signature Style
We work in a clean, minimalist line art style. We capture the feeling of a moment rather than a photographic likeness — no facial features, but we include the details that make people recognizable: glasses, beards, hair, and accessories.

You'll See It Before We Make It
We send a proof before anything goes into production. Two rounds of revisions are included so we can get it just right. To keep things moving, please send all your feedback at once.

Need Photo Edits?
If you need us to merge photos, rearrange people, or remove objects, email us at hello@sticksanddoodles.com before ordering and we'll work out a quote.

Artist Time Deposit
Because every drawing is created exclusively for you, $250 of your order covers your artist’s time and project setup. This amount is included in the total purchase price and is non refundable if the order is cancelled.

As personalized items are made just for you, they are final sale.

If there is an issue please contact us within 15 days of receiving your order. If the mistake is ours, we'll make it right – no questions asked. If the mistake was not ours, or something happens outside of that timeframe, still reach out.

Build times are listed above and reflect production time before your order ships or is ready for pickup.

Rush production (Priority Build) may be available – please select the appropriate build time option.

Shipping

We offer a $14.99 flat rate for shipping anywhere in Canada or the USA. Free shipping on orders over $250.

No need to pick a courier, we will always choose the best one for your order.

Our pieces are made with high-quality wood and durable paints and are intended for indoor use only.

To keep your item looking it's best, avoid excess moisture, and keep signs away from heat exposure (both can lead to warping).

Always display indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.

If you have a question about care, touch-ups, or minor repairs, just reach out – we're always happy to help!

In 2019, we started in a Regina basement with a couple of tools, a lot of grit, and a genuine love for making people smile. The early years were hard — but we never stopped believing that meaningful, personalized gifts should be easy to order and impossible to forget.
